I just heard part of your program with gaswan talking about iraq and syria. He stated that the arab league monitors found both the assad forces and demonstrators responsible for the violence. I find this not an accurate analysis of what has happened in syria. There was no violence on the part of the opposition for 6 months, in fact the only violence has occurred because of defections from the syrian army. how many months should someone wait to defend themselves. If your so called expert had followed all the news available you could see numerous protests online without anyone armed but being shot at by Assad forces. You will also see free Syrian army defectors saying who they are and why they have defected, to protect the people after being ordered to shoot unarmed protestors. Many were told they are fighting foreign terrorists only to find they are shooting at syrian civilians. there is even mention of Hezbollah and Iranian forces going to Syria to back up Assad due to defections. Monitors have in fact left saying ASSAD has not followed the Arab league agreement to remove tanks and troops from the streets. I have not heard of the Arab league blaming the opposition for the agreement not working so far. the Arab league was only allowed in because Assad knows the west will be forced to intervene if progress is not made to stop the killing. In fact their have been 400 opposition protestors killed since the Arab league arrived. And recently the Assad military launched operations and took towns near the Lebanon border where deserters are located. He has not stopped the crackdown at all. I don’t know who this so called expert is but he does not seem to follow the whole truth. Time for laying down arms is about over now that the opposition and free Syrian army are coming together. We should support those seeking freedom from a known terrorist backer- ASSAD
